Episode Summary

Episode Summary:

With the arrival of winter in the illusionary world, the robot senses that something is starting to change, and the girl is sleeping more. The robot worries that the world will be covered in clouds and snow before long, and when the girl wakes up, the robot points outside to indicate where it wants to go. The girl warns that winter is coming and that if it gets any colder, then she’ll be unable to move. What’s more, if they leave their home, then they won’t be able to return. The girl ends up asking what’s over there since the robot still wants to go, so the robot indicates that it’s a warm place where every day is fun. Back in the real world, Yukine is cooking for Tomoya, Nagisa, and Sunohara in the resource room. When Tomoya asks if Yukine gets bored always being alone there, she denies that she is because she has a lot of visitors. As proof of this, she is then paid a visit by a muscular guy named Sudou who is all beaten up. Sudou explains that his friends lost big because of his mistake, and since he feels that he can’t face them, he plans to leave town. Yukine, however, convinces Sudou that everyone including herself would miss him, and she has him perform a charm so that he can make up with his friends. She also suggests that he apologize to his friends, and she explains that running away doesn’t solve anything.

Afterwards, Sudou reveals to Tomoya and company that Yukine plays a big sister role to his group. They’re all under her care and come to her after getting into fights. His explanation is interrupted by the arrival of another rough looking guy who’s been pursuing Sudou. This new guy has no intention of troubling Yukine since she’s taken care of his friends as well, so the two guys willingly head out to fight elsewhere. On the way home later, Yukine reveals to Tomoya and company that her brother is the leader of Sudou’s group, and it is one of the two groups in their town locked in a power struggle. Her brother apparently hasn’t ever been defeated in a fight, and he keeps his looks and whereabouts hidden so that he doesn’t get attacked by surprise. Right as Yukine is telling the others that her brother’s name is Miyazawa Kazuto, she gets jumped from behind by a young boy. The boy thinks that Yukine is the boss of the delinquents and demands back his older sister, but Yukine just lifts him onto her back and deposits him on a park bench. The boy ends up mistaking Sunohara for Kazuto due to his blonde hair, and after Sunohara decides to play along, they head to Sunohara’s room at the dormitory to figure out what the boy is talking about concerning his sister.

Once there, the boy - whose name is Yuu - explains that his older sister left home and joined the group that Yukine’s brother leads. Yuu is trying to get his sister back, and since Kazuto likes to stay in the shadows, Yuu came to Yukine instead. Upon learning that Yuu’s sister is 21 years old, Sunohara thinks that she wanted her independence and that Yuu has a sister complex. He compares Yuu to the spore of a flower that will be blown by the wind and will go on a journey to a new place to meet new people, and he feels that Yuu can’t be spoiled by his sister forever. Sunohara goes on to explain that even when apart, Yuu and his sister are still connected by a bond because that’s what family is. Despite this, Yukine knows that Yuu is worried, so she promises to ask her friends about his sister. The next day, Tomoya finds Yuu following Sunohara around at school, still under the impression that he’s Kazuto. Yukine eventually finds out where Yuu’s sister is, so they go to see her at the place where their group always gathers. Sunohara almost chickens out because he knows that he’ll get exposed as not being Yukine’s brother, but Tomoya drags him in anyway. The entire group is happy to see Yukine, and Yuu soon gets reunited with his sister who is fine.

When Tomoya comments on how popular Yukine is, one of the members explains that it’s because she treats people’s injuries without regard to whether they’re friend or foe. Sunohara’s secret then gets out because Yuu calls him Kazuto, and although Yuu is disappointed to learn that this was a lie, Sunohara is spared from any major harm from the offended group members because he’s Yukine’s friend. While the others are enjoying themselves, Yukine explains to Tomoya and Nagisa that the relationship between parent and child in Yuu’s home isn’t very good. Yuu’s sister left after a fight with her mother, and Yukine notes that a lot of the people in this group don’t have good relationships with their parents. Her brother is one of these people. Hearing this, Tomoya tells of how he had once heard that having something like a family keeps people from straying from their path. A little later, Nagisa asks about Yukine’s brother coming, so Sudou reveals that the real Kazuto is actually in the hospital after getting into a car accident while saving a friend. Unfortunately, there’s no picture of him, though Yukine claims that everyone says she looks like him. After leaving the gathering, Yukine, Nagisa, Tomoya, and Sunohara get attacked by a trio from the rival group who had earlier overheard Sunohara pretending to be Kazuto and still think that it’s true. Tomoya and company flee into a tunnel, and luckily, Tomoyo happens to be there because she’s on patrol due to reports of violence in this area. She beats up the thugs, and afterward, everyone worries about the big misunderstanding.

Episode Summary

Episode Summary:

Focusing on an old closet door handle, Jin walks into his bedroom with a Capirus* Water and starts yelling at the closet after a moment of strained silence. With no reply, he tries unsuccessfully to open the door. Pissed at Jin for whatever he did to her yesterday night, Nagi refuses to come out of the closet for anything. Not swayed at all by Jin’s arguments about food or toilet, she’ll just live in there instead..

Tsugumi stops by with several Tupperware boxes full of food (Tamago-yaki and boiled vegetables), and Jin tells her what’s happened to Nagi. In Jin’s bedroom, they try to convince Nagi to come out together, but to no avail. During this conversation, we learn that Nagi’s magic light can also steal Jin’s Calpis Water from across the room. (Or maybe she took it earlier, but I prefer the cooler scenario.)

Left hand delicious snack, Right hand Calpis - I can last another 10 years with this much! Tsugumi tells Jin she’ll go talk to her alone, but he says it’s fine if she never comes out. It’s not like there’s anything inside that he’d need or be… embarrassed about, right? From outside the closet door, you can hear Nagi’s light beam and the sound of flipping pages. Tsugumi goes into the bedroom alone and makes Jin promise to apologize if she comes out.

Nagi says she won’t come out even if it’s just for Tsugumi. Following some fairly convincing arguments from Tsugumi, Nagi vents her anger at Jin and says she’ll never forgive him for what he did to her while she was in the bathroom last night. Tsugumi comes out in a rage and scolds Jin, completely forgetting about her goal to extract Nagi, and makes him throw away the empty Calpis Water bottle that Nagi stole earlier.

In the hallway, Jin calls Akiba for help on the phone, and claims he was only thinking of Nagi’s happiness, yet it turned out like this. Akiba says he’ll come over to lend a hand, but only after some preparations. Tsugumi remarks on how they haven’t spent time alone together in awhile, but the silence in the room doesn’t last long as a knock on the door reveals the cutest Akiba Jin’s ever seen. Tsugumi protests the obvious while Zange-chan is overjoyed at her one-on-one alone time with Jin. Zange offers to help extract her sister from the closet with a good idea.

Inside the closet, Nagi is hot so she uses a PlayBoya to fan herself, but hides it quickly when Jin comes into the room with Zange at his side. Jin asks her to come out one more time, saying it looks like he can fix what happened yesterday, but Nagi doesn’t trust him or anyone else, calling them all liars. Zange speaks up while moving in a little closer to Jin, and Nagi realizes her sister has come, too. Urging Jin to forget about Nagi and do all sorts of “fun” and “embarrassing” things with her, Jin starts to panic. It looks like Zange didn’t tell him what her awesome plan was before they started. Nagi asks what’s going on but Zange ignores her, pretending that she heard the voice of a house ghost. Pinning Jin down, she has her way with him despite his submissive protests, piquing Nagi’s interest as well as her anger. Outside the door listening the whole time, Tsugumi panics, as well. Following a long silence as Jin’s soul leaves his body, Zange seductively teases, “Oh my.. This much came out?” At the same time Nagi thrusts open the closet door a few inches in shock, Tsugumi breaks in frantically shouting, only to find Jin passed out fully dressed in Zange’s arms.

With several bloodied tissues added to the trash can full of junk food wrappers, Jin makes another phone call, but Akiba is unavailable. Sitting alone at the table with Zange, Tsugumi blames herself for ruining her plan, and admits how scary she thinks Zange is. Kimura and Shino suddenly show up unannounced behind everyone, lamenting that they missed out on some erotic action because they arrived just a few minutes too late. After embarrassing Tsugumi with a cosplay game Kimura borrowed from Akiba, everyone goes into Jin’s room to convince Nagi to come out together.

Sitting collectively in front of Jin’s closet door, Tsugumi accidentally voices her inner thoughts at Zange when she complains about the heat. Kimura begs Nagi to come out for the fan club’s sake, but gave up suspiciously quickly and started taking pictures with her cellphone for the website. Adding one more to the party, Daitetsu comes storming in to beg Jin not to apologize because of some crazy misunderstanding, and notices the crowd that has gathered. Jin wishes Akiba would hurry up and get here…

Somehow Nagi has stolen another Calpis Jin left on his desk. As long as Jin keeps leaving food and drink accidentally in the room, she doesn’t need to come out. Out of the blue Nagi begins freaking out and banging around inside the closet, and everyone worries as a sudden silence falls. Jin opens the closet door a little, but causes an uproar when a cockroach comes out, racing around the room avoiding skirts and feet, and finally landing on Daitetsu’s face before Shino calmly allows it to escape out the back door.

Just as Jin can’t stand the pain of this situation a moment longer and begs for Akiba to arrive, the doorbell rings. Calling out like they haven’t seen each other in years, Jin and Akiba come together in feverish joyful sparkles and bubbles for an overwhelming (and fairly long) spin-hug reunion. He brought what Jin was waiting for. With confusion mounting up unacceptably high, Daitetsu asks what the hell this is really all about…

The truth is, Jin saw a special on television the previous night showcasing cute kittens playing and he thought that’s the kind of thing Nagi would go for. So he recorded over a blank tape he found on the VCR. However, that tape wasn’t blank. It had been used by Nagi recently to record some anime she hadn’t seen yet, so that’s why she got so angry. Thankful that Akiba brought a copy of the anime, Jin is very happy until he whips out a blu-ray disc instead of a DVD. Predicting this might be a problem, Akiba takes a video cassette out of the bag to everyone’s relief. However, after a quick inspection by Nagi, she angrily throws it back outside the closet. It’s not actually a VHS tape, it’s a beta. When asked what a beta is, Akiba very seriously replies in English, “It’s a Sony.”

After everyone leaves and Jin returns to talk to Nagi alone, heartwarming music begins to play that lets you know the long-awaited reconciliation is about to happen. He tells her he’s felt the same pain when he was a child, so he understands how she feels. But he really only did this because he thought she’d be happy. Asking her to please come out and eat dinner with him like always, he finally spits out a difficult apology. Moments later, a toilet flushes in the other room, and Nagi enters the bedroom her with arms and mouth full of snack food. After a brief stare-down, Nagi happily shouts that she’s ready to settle things with Jin.

~ Toaru Majutsu no Index episode 07 Megaupload ~

Episode Summary

Some time ago in a small village, a girl dressed in miko garb stood in front of a pile of bodies and realized that she had killed again. Back in the present, Touma is downcast because he had to spend money buying a reference book. Index meanwhile gets caught up in the prospect of eating ice cream and harps on him about it. Touma is now out of the hospital, but he’s still keeping the fact that he doesn’t have his memories a secret, especially from Index. The two end up running into Touma’s classmates and head to a fast food restaurant together so that Index can get some ice cream. However, when they try to find seating, they come across a girl with her head face down on a table. She admits to eating a lot and spending too much money, so she’s now short 100 yen for the train ride home. When Touma suggests that she borrow the amount from someone, she looks to him for it, but he refuses. The girl thus turns her request towards Touma’s friends and cites how one of them took her photo, but that just prompts an irked Index to comment on how a miko is selling her looks. The girl, however, declares that she’s not a miko and insists instead that she’s a mage. This offends Index, particularly because Touma doesn’t question the girl like he did to Index when they first met, but the discussion is cut short when the group suddenly gets surrounded by a bunch of men in suits. The girl approaches one of these men and asks for 100 yen, and the man gives it to her without saying a word. Before leaving, the girl introduces these men as her cram school teachers, and that leaves Touma confused.

Afterward, on the way home, Index finds an abandoned cat in a box on the side of the road. She immediately names it Sphinx and wants to adopt it, but Touma refuses. The cat ends up running away, but more importantly, Index suddenly senses something in the flow of magical power nearby and goes to investigate. While Index is gone, Touma is approached by Stiyl who wants to talk about the Misawa cram school where a girl is supposedly being confined. Stiyl notest that the school has become a quasi religion that worships science and that there’s an alchemist named Aureolus Izzard who’s been hiding for three years. Aureolus’s goal is Deep Blood, which is the name of the ability that the aforementioned girl has that can kill certain creatures: vampires. Stiyl’s plan is to attack the Misawa cram school and get Deep Blood out, and he coerces Touma to go with him. For the time being though, Stiyl leaves, and Touma and Index return home together. Much to Touma’s dismay, Index has secretly brought home the cat, and after arguing with her, he finally gives in and lets her keep it. Since he has work to do with Stiyl, Touma claims that he dropped his reference book and leaves to look for it. Outside his apartment, he finds Stiyl putting down rune cards all over the place because he’s leaving Innocentius to guard Index. This prompts Touma to question if Stiyl likes Index, and Stiyl gets embarrassed and tries to deny it.

When the two arrive at the cram school building, Stiyl reveals that the building itself is an alchemist’s seal. Stiyl also explains that alchemists’ ultimate goal is to simulate everything in the world and suggests the possibility of bringing what’s imagined out into reality. He shows Touma a picture of the girl who has Deep Blood, noting that her name is Himegami Aisa, and Touma realizes that it’s the same girl he met at the fast food restaurant. Inside the building, everything looks normal, but they then notice what Touma thinks is a broken robot leaning against one of the pillars. Stiyl, however, identifies it not as a robot but as a corpse.
